An Azerbaijani citizen, internationally wanted with an Interpol “red bulletin,” has been detained at the Georgia-Turkey border.
Modern.az reports that “Georgia Online” disseminated this information, citing Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It was stated that employees of the Patrol Police Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs detained the person, who was put on an international wanted list based on a request from Azerbaijani law enforcement agencies, at the “Sarpi” customs-border crossing point.
According to the information, the person is accused of hooliganism and intentional damage to another's property.
Procedures stipulated in Georgian legislation regarding the extradition of the Azerbaijani citizen to the country have been initiated.
