"Kia" and "Hyundai" may be the first companies to return to the Russian car market.
Modern.az reports that Sergey Tselikov, director of "Avtostat", said this in an interview with TASS.
He noted that if the geopolitical situation normalizes and sanctions are eased, "Kia" and "Hyundai" may be among the first companies to return to the Russian car market.
According to him, some car manufacturers may not return to the Russian market at all. Among them are "Renault" and "Nissan". Tselikov noted that "Mercedes" and "Volkswagen" have also left the Russian market almost irreversibly.
It should be noted that although the mentioned car giants did not completely withdraw from the Russian market, they actually stopped their production and sales activities in Russia since 2022. "Hyundai" stopped its production in Russia in March 2022, and in December 2023, it sold its plant in St. Petersburg to the Russian company Art-Finance.
"Kia" stopped its activities and production in Russia since 2022. Its plant in St. Petersburg was also sold later.
