It is alleged that Zeynab Javadli, an Azerbaijani ex-gymnast and former wife of Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Al Maktoum, nephew of the Emir of Dubai, and her three minor daughters were abducted by Dubai police.

Modern.az reports that this information was published by the British publication “Daily Mail”.

Javadli's lawyer, British jurist David Haigh, stated that communication with his client and her children has been completely cut off. According to the lawyer's claim, Dubai police and security forces suddenly raided Javadli's home late at night and took her and her daughters. Her mother, who went to Dubai to support Zeynab, found the door of the house locked. It is also said that the elderly woman herself was banned from leaving the country. The incident has already been reported to the United Nations (UN) and legal procedures have been initiated.

Approximately two months before this incident, a Dubai court ruled that the children should be given to their father, Sheikh Saeed, and the document emphasized that if necessary, the judgment could be enforced “by force/compulsion”. In April, Zeynab Javadli released a tearful video message on social media, stating that she feared her children would be forcibly taken from her and asked for help from the international community. Currently, Dubai official bodies and the Sheikh's lawyers remain silent.

It should be noted that this is not the first tension experienced in Zeynab Javadli's home. Last year, her home was similarly raided, and the athlete went live on social media, showing the whole world that she and her children were under siege, subjected to harassment and pressure. She stated that she had been virtually under house arrest in Dubai for a long time.

It should be noted that what happened to Zeynab Javadli is the first such incident in the Dubai royal family. Previously, Princess Haya, the former wife of the Emir of Dubai, also fled to the UK with her children after similar pressures and was granted asylum. The Emir's daughter, Princess Latifa, was caught at sea while attempting to flee the country and forcibly brought back.
