The Armenian government is discussing the evacuation of illegal residents from the village of Karki in Azerbaijan's Sadarak district, which is under its temporary control.
Modern.az reports, citing local media, that David Khudatyan, Armenia's Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, presented three options to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding the relocation of the Armenian population living in Karki.
According to the information, two of the three options presented by Khudatyan actually envisage changing the names of existing settlements and settling the residents to be relocated from Karki in those areas. In addition, an area has been identified where several dozen houses can be built in a short time for the relocated residents.
The third option is to pay compensation to the residents of Karki and relocate them to another area.
It should be noted that Karki is an Azerbaijani exclave located in the Sadarak district of Azerbaijan, controlled by Armenia. The Armenian side calls the village Tigranashen. In his recent statements, Nikol Pashinyan refers to the village by its Azerbaijani name "Karki" and states that it is not included in Armenia's internationally recognized territory of 29,743 square kilometers.
