US authorities have removed a diplomat suspected of possessing images depicting child abuse from the country without prior notification to British officials.

According to the information, the operation was carried out on August 25. It is reported that US officials obtained a warrant from a US court for the diplomat's detention, but this document did not grant the right to arrest an individual on British territory.
The newspaper writes that US officials entered the unnamed diplomat's apartment in London. He was then taken to Fairford Air Base in Gloucestershire, England, and from there sent to the US by plane. It is believed that Marines from the Marine Corps, who protect US embassies and consulates abroad, also participated in the operation.
It is reported that the diplomat's detention was carried out as part of an investigation related to his brother. According to the investigation, his brother sent prohibited images of children to the diplomat. "The Sun"'s sources stated that these images were found in the embassy employee's apartment.
According to the newspaper, London police and British authorities were informed about the measures taken after the diplomat was taken to the US.
