An Istanbul court has decided to issue an international arrest warrant with a "red notice" for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Modern.az reports that the decision was made in the Istanbul 11th High Criminal Court regarding the "Sumud" humanitarian aid flotilla case. The court decided to send a "red notice" request to Interpol for Netanyahu to ensure his participation in the process.
According to the indictment, Benjamin Netanyahu and other accused individuals are being prosecuted for crimes against humanity, genocide, torture, intentional injury, property damage, obstructing vehicle movement, hijacking or illegally detaining a ship, as well as unlawful deprivation of personal liberty.
It should be noted that the court's decision does not automatically mean that Interpol will issue a "red notice." Turkey must submit the relevant request to Interpol, and the organization will evaluate the application separately in accordance with its own rules.
