Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan commented on the issue of returning Azerbaijan's Karki village within the framework of the delimitation process.
Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Pashinyan said that the settlement, which Armenians call "Tigranashen," will continue to exist, but where it will be located is another matter.
"There will be a 'Tigranashen' settlement, but where - that is another question," the Armenian Prime Minister said.
Pashinyan once again emphasized that Armenia's internationally recognized territory of 29,743 square kilometers does not include Karki and other Azerbaijani enclaves. According to him, this territory includes Bashkend, which is an Armenian enclave in Azerbaijan.
The Armenian Prime Minister accused the forces that say they will not allow Karki to be returned to Azerbaijan of inciting war:
"Those who say 'we will not allow' are inciting war. How the issue will be resolved is another topic. Establishing the fact is one thing, and how it will be resolved on the ground is another."
Pashinyan had previously stated that Karki is not Armenian territory based on maps. He said that issues related to enclaves should be resolved within the framework of the delimitation and peace process.
It should be noted that Karki is an enclave village belonging to the Sadarak district of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The village has been under Armenian control since 1990.
