Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Alen Simonyan denied reports about his expected visit to Azerbaijan. He stated that such a visit is not currently being discussed.

Modern.az reports that Alen Simonyan said this while answering journalists' questions about a possible visit to Baku.

"There have been no talks about such a visit, and there are none currently," the Armenian official said.

The issue came to the agenda after the appeal of Veronika Zonabend, the wife of Ruben Vardanyan, who was convicted in Baku, to Simonyan. Zonabend stated that she had received information that the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia might visit Baku and announced her readiness to come to Azerbaijan with him.

Alen Simonyan noted that during the tenure of the previous Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, Armen Grigoryan, a meeting was planned to be held in one of the cities of Azerbaijan. According to him, that meeting was supposed to be a response to the visit of the Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan to Dilijan in June.

Simonyan added that the planned meeting should not have been held in Baku
