More than 40,000 former Azerbaijani IDPs have already returned to Karabakh, and more will return. This is a great source of pride. Since 2020, more than 45 settlements have been rebuilt and made available to former IDPs.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev during his speech at the thoroughly reconstructed Cultural Center in Khankendi.

H. Hajiyev emphasized that currently approximately 100,000 civilians live, work, and study in Karabakh.

“This is also a unique experience that Azerbaijan has gained in the field of post-conflict recovery and reconstruction. We believe that Azerbaijan's experience can be useful for application in other parts of the world suffering from conflicts and wars. The World Urban Forum hosted by Azerbaijan once again proved that our cooperation, mutual relations, and sharing of experience and knowledge are critically important in this work,” the Assistant to the President added.
