The opening ceremony of the VII Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth on the topic "Reviving Cities" is being held in Zangilan region.

Modern.az reports that representatives of state bodies, guests, and Azerbaijani youth studying in various countries of the world are participating in the opening ceremony organized at the Zangilan Congress Center.

Azerbaijani youth studying abroad and living in various countries have joined the camp. Participants are accommodated in the "Lachin Resort & Spa" hotel located in Lachin city.

At the ceremony, Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan, delivered an opening speech. Greeting the guests, the committee chairman stated that the arrival of our compatriots living abroad to these lands is of special importance.

F. Muradov also spoke about the purpose of organizing the camp: "The main goal of this camp is for our youth to get to know Karabakh closely, learn the truths of Azerbaijan, and promote them correctly in the countries where they live. Although you live in different countries, Azerbaijan is your Homeland, and you should never lose your connection with these lands.

The Azerbaijani people liberated their lands, which had been under occupation for many years, through unity, solidarity, and determination. Today, the large-scale construction work carried out in Karabakh demonstrates the strength of our country and its confidence in the future.
At the heart of these successes lies the path of statehood defined by National Leader Heydar Aliyev. This policy is successfully continued today by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and is one of the main guarantees of our country's independence, security, and development."

In his speech, the committee chairman also spoke about diaspora activities: "The main goal in diaspora activities is to protect Azerbaijani identity, language, and culture. No matter where you live, you should first be proud to say 'I am Azerbaijani'. Our identity introduces us to the world.
Today is the era of information warfare. Various disinformation and smear campaigns are being carried out against Azerbaijan. Our expectation from you is to convey the rightful voice of our country in the societies where you live with your knowledge and skills.
The Azerbaijani state always supports its compatriots living abroad. The State Committee for Work with Diaspora and other state bodies strengthen the unity and connections of young people through various projects, forums, and summer camps. Our greatest desire is for you to grow up as healthy, educated, nationally-minded, and patriotic young people. The future of Azerbaijan depends on your knowledge and activities."

At the end of his speech, F. Muradov thanked all state bodies and employees who contributed to the organization of this camp and wished them success.

It should be noted that a rich program has been prepared for young people within the framework of the camp, which will last from August 2 to 8. The program will include speeches by representatives of various state bodies, panel discussions, meetings, presentations, as well as informative events related to the restoration and construction process of Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur. In addition, participants will visit historical and scenic places in the region and participate in cultural and intellectual events.
