The US-Iran talks held in Switzerland allowed for progress, which creates optimism.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the statement of the representatives of Pakistan and Qatar, who acted as mediators in the talks.
The statement emphasizes that the meeting was held in a “positive and constructive” atmosphere.
The parties also agreed to create a special group to prevent conflict situations in Lebanon.
“An agreement has been reached on the creation of a group for maintaining peace and preventing conflicts. The group will include the US, Iran and Lebanon. Mediators will assist the group's activities,” it is stated.
The main goal of the group will be to ensure the cessation of hostilities between Israel and “Hezbollah”.
“Technical talks on all issues will continue until the end of the week at the Bürgenstock resort in Switzerland,” the statement says.
The mediators assured that they will do their best to continue the talks in a constructive atmosphere in order to reach a final agreement between the US and Iran.
Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, in a statement on the social network X, said that “the tireless efforts of Pakistan and Qatar in the direction of mediation have led to significant progress towards stopping the war in Lebanon.”
