It may take 40-50 days to clear the Strait of Hormuz of mines for safe navigation.
Modern.az reports that "Reuters" agency disseminated information citing sources in Western maritime security companies.
Sources said that only after this can insurance companies, shipping operators and oil companies consider passage through the strait sufficiently safe.
The agency notes that the clearing operations, which will be carried out with classic mine-sweeping vessels and new generation underwater drones, could take several weeks and cause delays in the delivery of tens of millions of barrels of oil to the market.
