Azerbaijani para-judoka Ilham Zakiyev (J1, +95 kg) won a gold medal at the European Para Judo Championship held in Heidelberg, Germany.
Modern.az reports that in the semi-final stage of the competition, Ilham Zakiyev faced Daniel English from Great Britain and defeated his opponent with an ippon to advance to the final.
In the final match, the athlete defeated Spanish Garros Suarez with an ippon and won the title of European champion.
