The preliminary results of the State Duma elections in Russia are being announced.
Modern.az reports that, according to the Central Election Commission (CEC), after more than 90 percent of the election protocols have been processed, the "United Russia" party is leading with 57.86 percent of the votes on the federal list.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) is in second place. This political force gathered 13.84 percent of the votes. The Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR) is third with 8.90 percent of the votes, and the "New People" party is fourth with 7.94 percent of the votes. The "A Just Russia - For Truth" party gathered 4.95 percent of the votes. Thus, the party could not overcome the 5 percent barrier required to enter the State Duma, according to current results.
According to Russian legislation, a 5 percent election barrier is applied in the distribution of mandates based on federal party lists. In addition, half of the State Duma deputies are elected from single-mandate constituencies. In the 2026 elections, voting was also held in 225 single-mandate constituencies. In the preliminary results for single-mandate constituencies, "United Russia" candidates are also in a dominant position. According to Russian media reports based on CEC data, in the previous stage of protocols, the party's candidates led in the vast majority of 225 constituencies.
It should be noted that elections for the IX convocation of the State Duma in Russia were held on September 18-20, 2026. Along with the voting, gubernatorial and regional parliamentary elections also took place in several regions of the country.
The results are still preliminary, and the final figures may change after the full processing of the protocols.
