US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor may replace Secretary of State Marco Rubio. His candidacy for the position of White House chief of staff is also being considered.
Modern.az reports that “The Washington Sun” published information about this, citing sources in the White House administration.
According to the publication, sources familiar with discussions within the administration said that Gor's name was mentioned in connection with a number of important positions. This refers, in particular, to the position of White House chief of staff or Marco Rubio's possible successor as secretary of state.
According to the information, Gor's candidacy for high administrative positions that may become vacant in the second half of Trump's presidency is currently being discussed in the White House.
An official of the US administration told the publication:
“He aspires to a more prominent and public role.”
Will Rubio participate in the 2028 elections?
It should be recalled that in September, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio avoided answering the question of whether he would participate in the 2028 presidential elections and stated that he was fully focused on performing his current duties.
