Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei said that the US dominance in the world is weakening and this process is accelerating.
Modern.az reports that Khamenei criticized US policy in his address on the occasion of "Global Arrogance Day" celebrated in Iran on November 4.
He claimed that the events in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz shook the perception of US invincibility and showed the weakness of states that link their security to foreign powers.
Khamenei presented Iran's control over the Strait of Hormuz and strikes on US military bases in the region as a response to Washington's attacks. He warned that Iran's response would be broader if new attacks occurred.
The Iranian supreme leader said it was wrong to hope that internal political changes in the US or Tehran's concessions would change Washington's policy. In his opinion, backing down would encourage the US to make new demands.
Khamenei called for continuing the policy of strengthening the country and called the unity of society the main condition for increasing deterrence capabilities.
