US Vice President J.D. Vance is trying to gain the support of those among Donald Trump's supporters who are dissatisfied with his foreign policy ahead of the 2028 presidential election.
Modern.az reports that “Fox News” TV channel disseminated information about this.
As the TV channel noted, Vance demonstrated that he has different positions from Trump on the issue of US foreign policy with his statement regarding the reason for the Republican Party's defeat in the midterm elections.
Thus, in his post on the “X” social network on Wednesday, the Vice President cited the war with Iran as the reason for the Republican Party's defeat in the midterm elections to Congress.
According to “Fox News” assessment, Vance thereby revealed that his views on foreign policy and US relations with Israel do not coincide with Trump's.
In his post, Vance also listed four directions that could help Republicans regain public support:
- Ending the war with Iran;
- Focusing on reducing living costs and fighting inflation;
- Adhering to the “America First” principle;
- Reconsidering relations with Israel.
A source in the US administration told the TV channel that these four directions can be considered as Vance's call to the “new right.”
According to the source, the “new right” is a coalition of Republicans who support Trump's initial “America First” principle and want the US to refrain from participating in foreign conflicts.
However, the “Fox News” source stated that it is not correct to evaluate Vance's statement as an attempt to separate from Trump.
According to the TV channel, the Vice President wants to send a message to Republicans who support Trump but do not agree with his foreign policy.
This message sounds like: “Vance is our man.”
