US President Donald Trump may decide to use nuclear weapons against Iran in the coming days.
Modern.az reports that American political commentator and journalist Tucker Carlson shared this on his social media account.
Carlson claimed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is putting serious pressure on the Trump administration to strike Iran's nuclear facilities.
According to him, the main target of a possible attack could be an underground facility located in the central part of Iran, known as “Pickax Mountain”. Israeli intelligence claims that the uranium enrichment program has been restarted in that area.
The journalist stated that the facility's location under approximately 90 meters of thick granite makes it difficult to destroy with conventional weapons. According to Carlson's claim, this is why Netanyahu is trying to bring up the option of a nuclear strike.
He also claimed, citing an informed source, that the Israeli Prime Minister calls Trump every day about this issue.
Carlson believes that Netanyahu's position is related to the political situation that arose after the recent parliamentary elections in Israel. According to his claim, Netanyahu is having difficulty securing the support of the 61 deputies required in the Knesset to form a government and needs Trump's political intervention.
The journalist also claimed that US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Central Command chief Brad Cooper are against reaching an agreement with Iran through negotiations.
According to Carlson, Trump could make his decision on the use of nuclear weapons by November 7.
However, the journalist stated that US Vice President JD Vance and the President's special envoy Steve Witkoff advocate for a diplomatic solution.
Carlson also warned about the consequences of a possible nuclear attack. In his opinion, such a step could lead to a humanitarian and environmental catastrophe in the Middle East, a serious crisis in global energy markets, and the risk of the spread of nuclear weapons use to other conflicts.
He claimed that events could escalate into a wider world war and called on the international community to take a stand against possible escalation.
