It has been revealed that a 62-year-old college teacher in Germany received full salary for 16 years despite being on sick leave.
Modern.az reports that the incident began in 2009 when the woman went on sick leave due to chronic illness and psychological problems.
Three months later, she was supposed to undergo an independent medical commission, but she did not attend the examination. Nevertheless, salary payments continued, and her sick leave was automatically extended.
According to information, during this period, the teacher not only received a salary but also established her own business producing creams and engaged in diving.
Interestingly, the college management was unaware of the situation for 16 years. Even the previous director, who had been leading the institution since 2015, had never seen the teacher.
The new director investigated the matter and demanded that the woman undergo a medical examination. Although the teacher appealed this decision to court, all her claims were rejected.
According to lawyers, it will be difficult to recover the probable damage caused to the college. Because after such a long time, it is complicated to prove that the woman deliberately misled her employer about her health condition.
