America's "Axios" news platform, citing three sources, reported that US President Donald Trump held a consultation with US officials in the White House's "Situation Room."
Modern.az reports that the "Axios" material noted: "It is claimed that the consultation discussed more large-scale strikes against Iran, from the existing attacks around the Strait of Hormuz. Along with attacks on Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz, new plans for more destructive attacks on strategic targets in Iran are reported to have been discussed."
It was noted that US Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Kaine, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency John Ratcliffe, and Trump's special envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff, as well as members of Trump's national security team, reportedly participated in the consultation.
Trump stated in an interview with "Fox News" on July 14 that if Iran does not come to the negotiating table, all its power plants and bridges will be destroyed.
