Amidst the US strikes on Iran, Tehran has warned a number of countries in the region. Modern.az reports that this was shared by Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghai on the social network X.
According to him, the head of the US Central Command (CENTCOM), Brad Cooper, stated that some member countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf and Jordan participated in military operations against Iran.
Ismail Baghai said that if this claim by the US is not true, the mentioned states should officially deny it.
"In this situation, if Iran, exercising its right to self-defense, strikes US military bases and facilities located in the territories of those countries, questioning its motives is merely an attempt to distort the facts and mislead the public," he emphasized.
Baghai added that these countries allowing their territories to be used for US attacks against Iran makes them participants in these operations, according to UN General Assembly Resolution 3314. According to him, this step is also considered a gross violation of the principles of neighborhood and Article 2 of the UN Charter.
It should be noted that the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf includes Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Oman.
