The Armenian Ministry of Defense has refused the financial support it had previously promised for the film "Monte" about Monte Melkonyan, whom the country declared a National Hero and the separatist regime's "hero."

Modern.az reports that the Armenian newspaper "Hraparak" published this information.

According to the publication, the reason for the Ministry of Defense's refusal to support the project is the presence of military scenes in the film. The project received financial support from the Armenian Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, as well as the Yerevan City Hall.

The film's premiere is scheduled for November 25. Until the news was released, the Armenian Ministry of Defense had not commented on the matter.

It should be recalled that although Monte Melkonyan was declared a National Hero by Armenia, he is internationally recognized as a terrorist. As a member of the "ASALA" group, Melkonyan organized terrorist acts in the US and France and actively participated in military aggression against Azerbaijan. He was killed by our National Army in Aghdam in June 1993.
