Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has clarified the purpose of the recent meeting between Armenian and Azerbaijani officials in Lachin.

Modern.az reports that Pashinyan answered a question about what was discussed at the meeting in Lachin regarding electricity issues during a briefing on August 27.

The Prime Minister stated that there are different regimes in electricity consumption, and in some periods there may be an energy surplus, and in some cases a shortage:

"Considering Armenia's investments in the field of artificial intelligence, it is necessary to determine whether it will be possible to import electricity, including from Azerbaijan, if the need arises in the future. This issue is being discussed not only with Azerbaijan, but also with Georgia, Iran and Turkey."
