US President Donald Trump's special representative, Steve Witkoff, announced that new trilateral talks are planned with the participation of representatives from Russia, the US, and Ukraine.
Modern.az reports that Witkoff spoke about this after his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on September 6.
He stated that Washington has made constructive progress in the diplomatic process over the last 48 hours and hopes that the talks will yield positive results.
"I hope that we have constructively started this process in the last 48 hours. We are confident that a good solution will be achieved here," Witkoff said.
The US official said that significant progress was made during the Moscow meetings and new proposals were discussed. According to him, these ideas were then presented to the Ukrainian side.
Witkoff emphasized the importance of overcoming disagreements between the parties' positions. He stated that there are sufficient opportunities for this and that diplomatic efforts will continue.
