Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov commented on the accusations directed at Moscow regarding the drone incident at Leipzig Airport in Germany.
Modern.az reports that Lavrov said that the West's attempts to attribute Russia to the incident actually mean "the beginning of a real war."
According to him, the statements of German Chancellor Friedrich Mertzin show that Berlin is preparing for a confrontation with Russia.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry added that Moscow will draw conclusions from Germany's steps. He cited the suspension of the activities of Russia's Consulate General in Bonn and the Russian House in Berlin as an example.
Lavrov compared these steps to the closure of diplomatic missions on the eve of World War II.
It should be noted that Germany announced on September 1 that Russia was behind the attempted attack using a drone at Leipzig/Halle airport. Berlin stated that Russia's consulate and cultural center would be closed, and additional measures against Moscow would be prepared. Russia, however, rejected these accusations as baseless.
