According to reports, the couple met this summer in Le Touquet, a popular resort town on France's northwest coast. At that time, Lecomte worked there as a kitesurfing instructor.
It was Lecomte who taught Tiphaine how to ride an eFoil, a type of electric surfboard.
A close friend of the President's stepdaughter told "Gala" magazine that mutual sympathy developed between the couple from their first meeting.
