US President Donald Trump said he is close to making an important decision about the next steps regarding Iran.
Modern.az reports that Trump spoke about this in an interview with "Axios" publication.
The US President said that one of the main choices before him is to restart large-scale military operations against Iran, and the other is to choose a different path to stop the conflict.
"I have to make an important decision. Do I want to intervene and destroy them [the Iranian regime], or not? This is an important decision. Anything can happen with me," Trump said.
Trump also announced that he plans to meet with the leaders of six Arab countries of the Persian Gulf within the framework of the UN General Assembly to discuss future steps.
"I want to understand their position and what their situation is. We have defended them very seriously," the US President said.
The leaders of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman are expected to participate in the meeting. According to "Axios", the next phase of the conflict with Iran and the US post-war strategy will be among the main topics of the talks.
