Mohammed al-Shami, a UN employee held captive by Houthis in Yemen, has died.

Modern.az reports that this was announced by UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk.

According to him, the UN employee had been held captive by the Houthis since June 6, 2024.

According to the UN, Mohammed al-Shami died several months ago, but his family was only recently informed.
