The Ministry of Science and Education of Azerbaijan has drawn attention to the lack of opportunities for Azerbaijanis to receive education in their native language in Iran.
Modern.az reports that the ministry's statement said that as a result of Iran's policy, there is not even one school in that country where Azerbaijani is taught. It was noted that Azerbaijani is not taught in higher education institutions either.
"However, approximately 40 million of Iran's population are ethnic Azerbaijanis, and they have been deprived of the right to education in their native language for decades," the statement emphasized.
The Ministry advised Iran's Minister of Science, Research and Technology, Hossein Simayi-Sarraf, and other individuals speaking on this topic, to take measures to eliminate this injustice instead of interfering in Azerbaijan's internal affairs.
