The average price of 1 kilogram of beef in grocery stores in Azerbaijan is 17 manats 90 qepiks (10.53 US dollars).
Modern.az reports, citing updated data from the international research organization Numbeo, that with this indicator, the country ranked 70th in the rating conducted among 103 states.
According to the research, beef prices vary among countries in the region. Thus, the average price of 1 kilogram of beef in Turkey is 20.01 dollars (34 manats 2 qepiks), in Armenia 12.28 dollars (20 manats 88 qepiks), in Russia 10.90 dollars (18 manats 50 qepiks), and in Georgia 9.78 dollars (16 manats 63 qepiks). With this, Turkey ranked 17th, Armenia 52nd, Russia 65th, and Georgia 75th in the rating. According to the information, beef is the cheapest in Georgia compared to neighboring countries, and the most expensive in Turkey.
As for global indicators, the most expensive beef is sold in Switzerland, where the price is more than 45 dollars (76 manats 50 qepiks). The cheapest beef was recorded in Pakistan - approximately 4.68 dollars (7 manats 96 qepiks).
According to Numbeo data, among the countries where beef is most expensive, in addition to Switzerland (45.75 dollars), Norway (32.82 dollars (55 manats 79 qepiks)), Luxembourg (27.74 dollars (47 manats 16 qepiks)), South Korea (25.28 dollars (42 manats 98 qepiks)) and Singapore (24.85 dollars (42 manats 25 qepiks)) are included. The places of these countries in the rating are 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th, respectively.
