The European Parliament is trying to take revenge for our Victory - DEPUTIES

Deputies sharply criticized the European Parliament's activities against Azerbaijan and emphasized the importance of reviewing all cooperation.

Modern.az reports that the issue was discussed at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis, where deputies of the Milli Majlis spoke during the discussion of the European Parliament's activities against Azerbaijan.

Deputy Elshan Musayev stated that the European Parliament, true to its "tradition" and based on its long-standing biased practice, adopted another hypocritical Resolution against Azerbaijan:

“It's as if they are waiting for a quorum, they are just waiting for a hint - to target Azerbaijan. However, we are already used to these known procedures, and our political immunity against such things has long been formed. First of all, they have started again saying that so-and-so was unjustly arrested or so-and-so are "prisoners of war"”.

The deputy emphasized that the political leadership of Armenia itself does not pursue the issues raised by the European Parliament without basis and illogically, does not call anyone a prisoner of war, and does not talk about some abstract cultural heritage:

“They claim that you are destroying cultural heritage... At this point, you don't know whether to laugh or cry. Why? Because to say such a thing, to claim it, you have to be truly shameless. Or - normal shame is enough not to utter that word. I think that all relations with them should be completely cut off, even if temporarily. We should both withdraw from "Euroneast" and stop our activities in the European Parliament commission” – the deputy emphasized.

Deputy Zaur Shukurov, on the other hand, emphasized that Europe has once again targeted Azerbaijan.

"The provisions against Azerbaijan in the resolution are completely unfounded, fundamentally wrong, and far from existing realities. Instead of supporting normalization and peace efforts in the post-conflict period in the region, the European Parliament's confrontational stance negatively affects the peace process in the region and Azerbaijan-European Union relations."

Chairman of the Human Rights Committee Zahid Oruj emphasized that the desire to revive former occupiers under the name of prisoners of war is clearly evident.

“We would not be surprised if they declared them political prisoners. In the European Parliament, they would demand acquittal for the Third Reich, for those tried in Nuremberg.”

The committee chairman stated that the Deputy Prime Minister, at the President's instruction, is agreeing on the border line within the framework of the peace process and for this purpose, for the first time in 35 years, travels to Yerevan in safe conditions by AZAL plane. “At such a time, forces active against peace and security are trying to take revenge for our Victory,” he said.

Deputy Azay Guliyev stated that the resolutions adopted by the European Parliament target Azerbaijan's national interests and bring up old, unfounded accusations without considering the realities of the region. According to him, the latest resolution on Armenia also included issues unrelated to Azerbaijan, and even a demand for the release of persons accused of crimes against our country was put forward.

Azay Guliyev stated that traces of corruption have also been observed in the activities of some European politicians, and these cases have come to light with international scandals. He emphasized the importance of investigating the decisions of such individuals and said that their politically motivated and biased activities should be given a legal assessment.

Chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee Shahın Ismayilov, on the other hand, emphasized that the conflict that lasted for many years in the region has now ended. Azerbaijan has restored its internationally recognized territorial integrity and sovereignty. Today's reality is the post-conflict period.

“An intensive process is underway towards the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, border delimitation, and a peace agreement. At such a sensitive stage, the unilateral and provocative statements of the European Parliament do not serve the peace agenda, but rather strike a blow to the atmosphere of trust in the region.”

Deputy Vugar Bayramov noted in his speech that although the draft resolution titled “Supporting democratic resilience in Armenia” discussed in the European Parliament is formally presented as support for Armenia, a number of its provisions contain unfounded accusations and demands against Azerbaijan, which demonstrates the biased position of some Western circles.

“At the same time, Azerbaijan has enough friends in Europe, and recent high-level visits confirm this.”
