Yesterday, Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev visited Yerevan with a delegation. During the visit, a meeting of the working groups on delimitation and demarcation of Azerbaijan and Armenia was held. In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister met with Armenian businessmen.
It is known that Azerbaijan not only allows cargo transportation to Armenia through its territory, but also sells fuel products to this country. Previously, Armenian officials stated that Azerbaijan was interested in importing some Armenian products.
After the meeting of the First Deputy Prime Minister with Armenian businessmen, it is of particular interest which Armenian products Azerbaijan will be interested in.
In his statement to Modern.az, Vugar Bayramov, a member of the Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Committee of the Milli Majlis, stated that the most promising area in the economic field is related to international cargo transportation:
“Azerbaijan exports fuel products to Armenia. At the same time, all restrictions on cargo transportation to Armenia have been removed. This factor indicates the beginning of economic cooperation between the two countries. Naturally, Azerbaijan, adhering to the peace agenda, takes steps in this direction. This is also Azerbaijan's contribution to peace and cooperation in the region. The most serious area of cooperation in the economic field is related to international cargo transportation. The commissioning of the Zangazur corridor actually leads to more cargo being transported to Armenia via Azerbaijan, and both countries earning more from international cargo transportation. In fact, the Zangazur corridor also creates new opportunities for Armenia in this direction. The commissioning of the TRIPP road will change the direction and volume of international cargo transportation in the region. It will lead to the expansion of the opportunities of the Middle Corridor in the region.”

The parliamentarian emphasized that another important direction in the economic field is import and export issues:
“Armenia and our assessments show that it is possible to establish trade between Armenia and Azerbaijan for approximately 38 products in total. Import and export products include both food and non-food products. At the same time, if a peace agreement is signed and Azerbaijan and Armenia restore full economic relations, then in the first stage, it is possible to form an annual trade turnover of 300 million dollars. In this context, we see that there are certain opportunities for the restoration of trade turnover with Armenia. For this, it is important to sign a peace agreement and strengthen relations and economic ties.”
