Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan within the framework of the VIII Summit of the European Political Community held in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia.
Modern.az reports that Cevdet Yılmaz shared a post on his social media account after the meeting.
He stated that he had extensive and productive discussions with Pashinyan within the framework of the summit, where he participated representing Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
“During our meeting with Pashinyan, we thoroughly evaluated bilateral relations. At the same time, we had the opportunity to discuss steps to be taken towards strengthening transport, customs, energy, digital infrastructure and connectivity,” Yılmaz noted.
The Turkish Vice President emphasized that they were pleased with the concrete results of mutual constructive steps in the normalization process.
According to him, the parties signed a memorandum on the joint restoration of the Ani bridge on the border of the two countries.
“We believe that symbolic and concrete cooperation projects such as the joint restoration of the Ani bridge within the framework of the signed memorandum will contribute to a lasting peace and trust environment in the region. Turkey will continue its policy towards advancing the normalization process based on peace, dialogue and stability in the South Caucasus, increasing economic cooperation and strengthening contacts between peoples.”
Finally, he thanked Nikol Pashinyan for the hospitality shown and expressed hope that the meeting would yield beneficial results.
