Recent events in the US and UK once again show that technology devices are not only tools for daily use, but can also be at the center of crimes.

Modern.az reports that the “Apple Insider” platform has published information about this.

The report published in recent days highlights the exposure of a large-scale network related to the theft of "Apple iPhone" devices. In the UK, a person named Amir Khadikhel has been identified as the leader of a network that organized the export of thousands of stolen iPhones abroad. According to information, this group sent more than 60 thousand phones worth approximately 181 million pounds sterling to countries such as China and Dubai within a year. This network is reportedly responsible for approximately 40 percent of iPhone thefts in London. Interestingly, the criminals were discovered through a tracking application on one of the stolen devices, which led to the collapse of the entire network.

On the other hand, a number of different technology-based criminal cases have been recorded in the US. For example, a police officer was found to have used an "Apple AirTag" device to track his former partner. As a result of this incident, the person was arrested and dismissed from work. In addition, in another incident, a person received a 17-month prison sentence for "Apple iPad" devices stolen from a store. In another incident, a person illegally obtained an "iPhone" by ordering it with someone else's identity.
