Ukraine has temporarily paused attacks on Russian oil refineries after pressure from US President Donald Trump.

Modern.az reports that “The Wall Street Journal” wrote about this, citing sources familiar with the course of operations.

According to the publication, in mid-October, Ukrainian units carrying out long-range strikes were instructed to stop new attacks on oil refineries after completing the operations that had begun.

US representative Jared Kushner called on Kyiv to take a 30-day break from strikes. The Ukrainian side, in turn, tried to get Russia to stop attacks on energy facilities or to provide additional “Patriot” missiles. However, no agreement was reached on these proposals.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, however, stated that there was no order prohibiting strikes on oil refineries.

The newspaper's sources said the unofficial pause could last until after the US midterm elections, or even later in November. Kyiv has not officially announced a halt to the attacks.
