Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that he considers the text of the country's Declaration of Independence to be anti-state.

Modern.az reports, citing "Armenpress", that Pashinyan spoke about this in a statement to journalists.

"The existence of an independent state is not possible with this text. This text talks about the impossibility of the state's existence," the prime minister said.

Pashinyan noted that the adoption of a new constitution was included in the election program of the ruling "Civil Contract" party. According to him, after gaining an absolute majority in the elections, the party must implement its program.

The prime minister said that the opposition links the constitutional process with the international and regional agenda. He also raised the possibility of increasing public pressure to prevent the opposition from hindering the holding of a referendum on the new constitution.

Pashinyan stated that he could put forward a proposal to the opposition that would be difficult to refuse. The prime minister noted that there is a high probability that the process will not lead to snap elections.
