The naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran announced that the movement of two oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz has been stopped.
Modern.az reports that, according to the Iranian side, the ships tried to pass through a prohibited route with the support of US military personnel by turning off their navigation and positioning systems.
The IRGC announced that the tankers entered a dangerous zone ignoring several radio warnings, and after the incidents that occurred there, they remained motionless near the southern shores of the strait.
Iranian military personnel also claimed that fires broke out on the ships. They attributed the incidents to the activities of the US military and the crews' failure to comply with the transit rules set by Iran.
