After the midterm elections in the US Congress, a new attempt is being prepared regarding the impeachment of Pentagon chief Pit Hegset.

Modern.az reports that "Bloomberg" has spread information about this.

Representatives of the Democratic and Republican parties intend to increase pressure on War Minister Pit Hegset after the congressional elections on November 3.

It was noted that the head of the Pentagon may be held accountable for waging war against Iran, military expenditures and personnel decisions.

One of the main supporters of the impeachment initiative is Republican Thomas Massie. He accuses Hegset of waging war against Iran without the permission of Congress and plans to reintroduce a resolution on this after the elections.

According to "Bloomberg" as of October 16, the US military operation against Iran cost American taxpayers 47.1 billion dollars. This amount does not include the damage to US military bases in the Middle East.

Democratic Senator Jack Reed said that 21 American servicemen died and more than 850 were wounded during the war.

Some Republicans are also dissatisfied with Hegset's activities. They accuse the Pentagon leadership of not being transparent enough about military spending and of removing high-ranking generals without adequate explanation.
