Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a remarkable statement regarding the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Modern.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Pashinyan stated during a government meeting that Yerevan will continue to work closely with the Eurasian Economic Union.

According to him, Armenia does not believe that irreversible processes have already occurred in the EAEU and is interested in continuing cooperation with the organization.

Pashinyan noted that the Eurasian Economic Union is built on the principles of free movement of labor, goods, services, and finance. He emphasized that if these principles do not work, then the existence of the EAEU itself is called into question.

“The Eurasian Economic Union itself must give a clear answer to this question: does it exist or not?” Pashinyan said.

The Armenian Prime Minister stated that his country, as a member of the EAEU, continues its activities within the organization. In his opinion, the current situation stems from some misunderstanding.

Pashinyan added that if the EAEU directly or indirectly indicates that it no longer exists, in this case, the situation will completely change:

“If suddenly it is said that the Union does not exist, then what can we do? If it doesn't exist, then it doesn't; if it does, then it does.”

It should be recalled that in recent days, Russia, as a member of the Eurasian Union, has been imposing restrictions on the entry of products from Armenia into the country.
