Changes observed in economic indicators in Germany and difficulties faced by some companies are being discussed in terms of their possible impact on the European economy, as well as on Azerbaijan.

Speaking to Modern.az on the matter, MP Vugar Bayramov stated that although unexpected events may occur in the global economy in 2026, a large-scale economic crisis or recession is not observed.

“In 2026, the Azerbaijani economy is expected to maintain its growth rate. It is true that this year unforeseen changes occurred in the global economy. The conflict with Iran affected the prices of strategic products and somewhat weakened expectations for global economic growth. Volatility was also observed in the economies of several developed countries.”

The MP noted that the deterioration of economic indicators in individual countries does not mean a global economic crisis.

“This does not mean that there is a serious and long-term crisis in the economies of some countries, including Germany. Changes in economic indicators may occur at certain periods. But currently, recession trends are not observed in the global economy. Economic growth is also expected to continue in the European Union in 2026. The growth rate may be lower than previous forecasts, but economic growth will continue.”

According to Vugar Bayramov, the processes taking place in Germany are not expected to have a serious negative impact on the Azerbaijani economy.

“Changes in economic indicators in some countries or difficulties faced by individual companies will not seriously affect the Azerbaijani economy. The state is consistently implementing measures to minimize the impact of negative external factors on the country's economy. Steps are being taken, especially in the direction of protecting the consumer market.”

The MP believes that the economic changes observed in Germany will neither seriously affect the overall economic indicators of the European Union nor weaken Azerbaijan's economic growth rate.

“The Azerbaijani economy will try to maintain its growth rate this year as well, and the existing economic policy creates sufficient opportunities for this,” Vugar Bayramov emphasized.
