Moscow and Baku have resolved all issues arising after the crash of an AZAL passenger plane near Aktau in December 2024.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin in an interview with RTVI.

According to him, all issues related to the consequences of the accident have been settled.

"We have resolved all issues related to the consequences of the crash of the Azerbaijani passenger plane. However, we are talking about people who have experienced a severe tragedy and lost loved ones. Therefore, I do not want to go into details," Galuzin said.

It should be recalled that the accident occurred on December 25, 2024. An Embraer 190 passenger plane belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines was flying from Baku to Grozny. The plane crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan, after being shot down by Russian Air Defense Forces. Of the 67 people on board, 38 died.

It should be noted that in April 2026, the Russian and Azerbaijani Foreign Ministries issued a joint statement announcing that issues related to the accident had been settled. The statement also said that the issue of compensation payments had been resolved.
