In May, the number of Ukrainian citizens who received temporary protection status increased in 22 of the 26 European Union countries.
Modern.az reports that this was stated in the data of the European Statistical Office (Eurostat).
According to the information, the largest increase was recorded in Italy. In this country, the number of Ukrainians receiving temporary protection increased by 6250 people (+15.3%). Germany (3610 people, +0.3%) and Spain (2295 people, +0.9%) ranked next.
The largest decrease was observed in Bulgaria. Here, the number of Ukrainians with temporary protection status decreased by 12,345 people (-14.8%). In Poland, this figure was 3750 people (-0.4%), and in France, it was 665 people (-1.3%).
According to Eurostat, by the end of May, a total of 4.38 million Ukrainian citizens had temporary protection status in the European Union.
