Important steps have been taken in Ankara-Astana relations within the framework of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit to Kazakhstan.
Modern.az reports that after the meeting held at the Palace of Independence in Astana, 13 documents were signed between Turkey and Kazakhstan with the participation of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
First, the "Declaration of Eternal Friendship and Partnership between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Kazakhstan" was adopted.
In addition, the "Agreement on Mutual Promotion and Protection of Investments", the "Agreement on the Establishment, Operation and Management of Cultural Centers", and the "Protocol on Amending the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance in Legal Matters" were also signed.
The parties also expanded cooperation in the fields of education and transport. Among the signed documents were the "Agreement on a Joint Scholarship Program", the "Protocol of Intent on the Opening of two Turkish Maarif Foundation schools in Kazakhstan", and the "Almaty International Airport Investment Agreement".
In addition, a cooperation agreement on the financing of hospital constructions was also adopted.
Important documents were also signed in the media and energy sectors. A memorandum on cooperation in the radio and television field was adopted between TRT and the Television and Radio Complex of the President of Kazakhstan.
In the energy sector, a cooperation agreement on oil field services and a memorandum on the joint development of oil and gas projects were signed.
Also, a memorandum of cooperation between the Astana International Financial Center and the Istanbul Financial Center was approved.
In the field of defense industry, one of the most notable agreements was the agreement on the establishment of a joint venture for the production and maintenance of "ANKA" unmanned aerial vehicles.
Thus, cooperation between Turkey and Kazakhstan has entered a new phase covering a wide range of areas from defense industry to energy.
