Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met in Moscow and discussed issues of expanding energy and economic cooperation between the two countries.
Modern.az reports that Iran's IRNA state news agency disseminated information about this.
The meeting took place on Tuesday within the framework of the VIII Summit of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF) held in Russia.
The parties reviewed the existing relations between Tehran and Doha, exchanged views on the development of joint projects in the energy sector, the expansion of economic and trade relations, and the strengthening of coordination among gas exporting countries.
Pezeshkian and the Qatari Emir emphasized the importance of further developing political and economic relations between the two countries.
According to the information, the Iranian President will speak at the GECF summit today and present Tehran's proposals on strengthening cooperation among countries with large energy reserves and developing multilateral relations at the international level.
Pezeshkian is also scheduled to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow.
The talks between the leaders of the two countries are expected to discuss the expansion of political and economic cooperation, as well as the results achieved in the implementation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Agreement signed between Iran and Russia.
It should be noted that GECF is a platform for dialogue and coordination among natural gas producing and exporting countries. The organization includes Iran, Russia, Qatar, UAE and other gas exporters.
The 28th ministerial meeting of the Forum, held on Monday, discussed the situation in the global gas market, demand and supply prospects, energy security and the challenges facing the sector.
