After the victory of the “Student List” in the elections in Serbia, a group of protesters entered the newsroom of the pro-government “Informer TV” channel and damaged the building.
Modern.az reports that the TV channel linked the attack to the “Student List”.
Live broadcast footage shows editor-in-chief Vučićević calling the police to the studio against the backdrop of blows to the doors. According to reports, the protesters first broke the windows of the newsroom, tore off part of the entrance door, then entered, destroyed the building, and attacked the editor-in-chief.
The TV channel's employees hid in the building's toilet and basement. Gendarmerie forces arriving at the scene evacuated all employees.
According to “Danas” publication, protesters also gathered in front of the newsroom of “Pink TV” last night. Police surrounded the building. Protesters threw eggs at the entrance of the TV channel.
Meanwhile, the evening news broadcast of RTV, a Vojvodina television, began with an apology to viewers. The presenter admitted that the TV channel had not covered events for years, presented information one-sidedly, and did not ask disturbing questions. RTV's editor-in-chief Nenad Čačić resigned.
“Informer TV” and “Pink TV” were criticized for participating in a campaign to discredit opposition politicians.
