Parliamentary elections for the 26th Knesset are being held in Israel today, October 27.
Modern.az reports that AP and Reuters agencies have disseminated information about this.
The main competition in the elections is expected to be between the “Likud” party led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his allies, and the opposition led by former Chief of Staff of the army Gadi Eisenkot.
According to polls, there is a tense struggle between the parties. At least 61 mandates are required in the 120-seat parliament to form a government coalition.
These are the first parliamentary elections held in the country since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, and the start of the war in Gaza.
