The TRIPP project can be launched even before the signing of a peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan did not rule out this possibility during his speech in parliament.
Modern.az reports that the minister answered positively to the question about the possibility of implementing the project before the peace agreement.
“I can easily answer this question: yes, it is possible,” Mirzoyan said.
The Armenian Foreign Minister reminded that the text of the peace agreement has already been initialed and both countries officially declare that they do not question the content of the document.
According to him, Baku refuses to sign the document for another reason. This refers to the demand for amendments to the Constitution of Armenia.
A. Mirzoyan stated that although the agreement has not yet been signed, a practically real peace has been formed between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“Therefore, peace is needed to launch the TRIPP project, and that peace already exists,” the minister emphasized.
Mirzoyan admitted that initially, the sequence of signing a peace agreement and then starting to implement joint projects would seem logical. However, according to him, events do not always develop according to this scheme in practice.
The Armenian Foreign Minister did not rule out that the implementation of TRIPP and other joint initiatives could itself contribute to the signing of a peace agreement between the two countries.
