The Dilijan municipality of Armenia has filed a new lawsuit against "Dilijan Development Company," a company associated with war criminal Ruben Vardanyan.
Modern.az reports, citing "Datalex," Armenia's judicial system, that the municipality has filed a total of three lawsuits against the company since June 2025. The lawsuits demand the cancellation of land use agreements and the invalidation of registered rights over those territories.
It is noted that "Dilijan Development Company" is registered at 6 Baghramyan Avenue, Yerevan.
The company is associated with the Dilijan Development Foundation (DDF), established by Ruben Vardanyan and his wife Veronika Zonabend. Founded in 2015, the foundation implements various projects in the fields of tourism, education, ecology, and urban environment development.
In addition, the Dilijan municipality has filed three more lawsuits against the "Dis Properties" charitable foundation, which is reportedly linked to Vardanyan. One of these lawsuits concerns the municipality's demand for the recovery of over 63.2 million drams for work that was paid for but not actually performed. The other two lawsuits are related to rights over land plots.
It should be recalled that on February 17 this year, the Baku Military Court sentenced separatist, Russian billionaire Ruben Vardanyan to 20 years in prison. Vardanyan was found guilty of crimes against peace and humanity, war crimes, terrorism, and other serious crimes.
