In the event of a possible armed conflict with Russia, NATO forces could strike targets located in Kaliningrad, the Kola Peninsula, around St. Petersburg, and in the Black Sea.

Modern.az reports that this was stated by the Commander of the German Air Force, Holger Neumann, in an interview with "The Telegraph" publication.

"Germany is ready to participate in military operations 'at any moment - even tonight.' There are no 'different security zones' within NATO, and an attack on one of the alliance members is considered a threat to the entire bloc," he noted.

Russian officials, however, have repeatedly denied claims of the existence of attack plans against NATO countries. Russian President Vladimir Putin called such statements "groundless" during a meeting with the heads of international news agencies on June 6.

"Ideas that Russia wants to attack NATO are fabrications. What is this? These are completely unfounded claims," Putin said. He emphasized that such statements are used to justify increased military spending and arms supplies.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov stated in December 2025 that Moscow was ready to provide legal guarantees not to attack NATO countries.
