Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan commented on the agreement reached on the signing of a peace agreement between the United States and Iran.
Modern.az reports that Erdogan said in a post on his social media account:
“I see the agreement reached between the United States and Iran as an important development in terms of ensuring peace and tranquility in our region and I welcome it with satisfaction. I sincerely wish that this news, which the whole world has long needed, will lead to the formation of a permanent peace and security environment in our region.”
Emphasizing the importance of refraining from statements, provocations and actions that will increase tension and being careful against possible sabotage in the period until the signing, Erdogan said:
“I thank Pakistan for its special mediation efforts, especially the US and Iranian leaderships, in achieving this result. I also highly appreciate the support given by Qatar and Saudi Arabia to diplomatic initiatives. As Turkey, we will continue to support all efforts aimed at ensuring peace, stability and tranquility in our region, and to contribute to diplomacy and international law-based sustainable solutions.”
